Nexus - Day 3, Tuna onboard, All is Well!

Day 3 in the Pacific and all is well. We got our wind back unexpectedly mid morning yesterday and were close hauled moving nicely along at 6-7kts most of the day yesterday. Caught a nice Yellow Fin Tuna mid day which went directly into the stir fry pan with vegetables and noodles for dinner....Yes! Winds became light and variable late in the evening but we stuck with sailing down to 5kts, then turned south west and motor sailed the rest of the night to try to get further south. The bioluminescence in the water is magic, at night before the moon comes out, it looks like we're flying along on two streams of fairy dust with our wake sparkling for about 50' behind the boat. Laurie had a large fish visit the boat and caused a big ghostly swirl in the water and a streamline as it shot away in the night. This morning we found ourselves at 3 degrees south and picking up 9kts of light wind on the beam and a helpful current, so we're motor sailing along at about 9kts SOG to make up for some lost time last night. Fishing lines are out, seas are flattening out, and we're looking for a good day to hunt for the trade winds south of us. The fleet is quite spread out now, we have Brizo on our starboard side about 4 miles away, and we believe Kathea, Seaduced, and NDS Darwin are well north and a bit west of us, and the rest of the fleet spreads for 30 miles or more North East and South West of us. We've lost VHF range with most of them last night, and are looking forward to hosting the SSB radio net at 11am today to touch base. We're 312 miles into our 3000 mile voyage, and fishing for wind and tuna.
