Atlantic Cup fleet making steady progress

Atlantic Cup fleet making steady progress
05 May 2012

The Atlantic Cup boats are making steady progress as they head away from the Caribbean and towards Bermuda. The fleet have remained fairly close to each other with an approximate distance of 70NM separating the first in the fleet, yacht Brizo, whilst Surprise leads the fleet from behind, with about 600NM to travel to Bermuda. Club Carp heads North West as they are not making landfall in Bermuda and sail direct to the USA.

The conditions have been mixed for the fleet thus far, with light winds on the start but the next 24hours seemed very good for the majority of the fleet, with some great beam reach sailing with gusts up to 20knots. It's been great to read the daily logs so far, with hopefully many more to come.

The ARC Europe fleet have left Nanny Cay today at 1200 so we now have 34 yachts at sea. Looking forward to seeing you all in St Georges, Bermuda.
