Following an early departure from Kiel due to a developing low pressure bringing high winds later today, the 27 boats that make up the ARC Baltic fleet experienced a mixture of wind and weather as they made their way east to Rønne Port on the western side Bornholm. The passage included an assortment of rain, sunshine and lightning storms.
Now safely berthed, skippers and crews have a fun social programme ahead of them during their stay in Bornholm starting with a BBQ and dock party tonight. The Allinge Jazz Festival is running throughout their visit and with a free day to explore the local area, the festival will be on the to do list for many. A bus tour on Thursday will allow the fleet to experience the northern side of Bornholm where there will be chance to visit Hammershus castle and stopover in Svaneke, the original first destination of the rally.
The planned departure on Friday will take the fleet to the second stop of the rally, Visby.
