It’s a sunny Sunday down in Nanny Cay, Tortola and we are set to start both ARC Europe and ARC USA on their way later this week. There will be a total of 53 boats here in Nanny Cay and with many of them already in the marina we have opened the Rally Office early for check-ins. Mia and Nicky walked the docks to sign people up and Song of the Sea, Altair and Crazy Horse are now already checked in and Widago is next on the list!
The program officially starts tomorrow and we expect the day to be busy with skippers checking in and boat safety equipment inspections throughout the day. There will be welcome drinks and canapés on the beach terrace in the evening where many crews will meet each other for the first time. This said, the evening will also act as a rendezvous and opportunity to meet old friends from recent rallies such as the ARC and Caribbean 1500. With a great BBQ also available on the beach it will no doubt be a great evening.
Nanny Cay is sure to become a hive of activity throughout the next week. A full programme of activities will keep crews entertained whilst yachts provision and prepare for the start on Saturday 09 May. For those who are still making your way here, we look forward to welcoming you to Tortola.
