Free Spirit - Log 19: 29 May 2015

I have learned that there exists photographic evidence of the light-fingered culprit in flagrante delecto stealing chocolate from the, rapidly depleting, Captains store. The photo has not reached me yet and I suspect a crooked deal to stop it getting into my hands - in which case two individuals are likely to experience the pleasure of my cat-o'-ninetails across their backs. I may have to indulge in a little 'persuasion' myself to get it but get it I will. I have also had it, from a very reliable source, that the young whipper-snapper, who definitely looks guilty to me, has a lifelong history of snaffling chocolate. Apparently he developed an extraordinarily strong attraction to it before he was out of nappies. The case is building. Watch this space.
Meantime, against all predictions, we actually found a bit of wind yesterday and made quite good progress - 126nm in 24 hours. What's more, after a night of motoring through the still dark hours, the GRIB files (downloaded wind charts) this morning show that the Azores 'High' has drifted south bringing favourable westerly winds just to the north of us. We are currently motoring north, as quickly as the grumbling old Yanmar engine can take us, to try to catch them.
