Jumbuck - ARC Baltic - Ronne, Bornholm, Denmark

It's now early Saturday. Half the fleet and it's mainly the bigger boats, have either departed before dawn or preparing to do so this morning.

Ronne is a lovely island but after five days, we've also had enough of this harbour and will be pleased to move on to Visby, but we will stay here one more night as the NE winds are still howling above 20 knots creating short steep seas. To depart and beat up into that makes little sense, as all the forecasts still say it will swing to the west around midnight tonight.

Meaning if we leave here 0600 tomorrow, we should enjoy a rollicking fast reach / run for the whole 200 miles up to Visby on the Swedish Island of Gotland. Won't make it in time to watch the soccer final, but won't have our brains beaten out either.

So today's going to be a mix of hand washed / air dried laundry, along with maybe a lengthy trek out south from Ronne to the southern tip of the island if we can avoid the rain. If not, it's hunkering down with a good book and the heater on!
