Firefly - Still no fish but good winds

Firefly is making great progress across the Pacific; we are now over a third of the way to the Marquesas and we continue to enjoy good winds force of 4 to 5 (in Beaufort Scale) from the South East. Sadly no fish yet but many of the others are celebrating their catches on the radio net. There is a competition running within the fleet estimating the total number of fish caught on passage - sadly we are not making our quota! But who needs fish when yesterday evening Paul cooked up one of his regulars and our favorites - corned beef hash. Tonight its David's turn and unless we hook something soon its looking like we will be opening some tins of tuna.

In an earlier log you will have read about Paul and Susie's exciting plans to make the most of their trip to the Southern Hemisphere and have an extended stop over in New Zealand. Those of you following Peter might wonder how this affects his plans. Peter is flying back to the UK from Bora Bora after the Pearl Regatta in early May (more about this later) as originally planned and was intending to return to the rally in Australia (September) to complete the trip. He is now looking at his options so as they say please watch this space.....

Its Susie's birthday today (Saturday) and many happy returns from all on Firefly. Again the satphone came into good use - enabling Paul to call her and wish her a happy birthday. All of the crew were pleased to hear that the weather in the UK was lovely and that it should continue for a while.
