DAY 14
After a few days of motoring (and hitting
the 2000 mile mark at midnight) Challenger 3 is back on proper sailing. Close
to midday the wind started blowing again, we are now doing 8 knots with full
main, yankee and staysail, heading towards our final destination.
Today the crew tasted the excellent French
crèpes done by Mark and sous chef Henry. Unfortunately the first batch
didn’t come out quite right due to a convex bulge in the pan, which Mark
then repaired with the nearest utensil to hand and some “gentle
persuasion”.
The crew are looking forward to making a
consistent nine knots all the way to Saint Lucia. Meanwhile
Challenger’s victual is nearly finished… the crew cant wait for
eating out of superb tins.
Further on, a lot of exciting adventures
are going on in the different watches, but today’s blog writer has
“la fleme” to go on!

Ps, the Werther’s original and
strong mints were enjoyed by all x
Day 15
Where has the sun gone? People ask, the
sun has been replaced with a good north easterly 20knt wind the yacht is racing
along at a good 9 to 10 knots and with 730 miles to go the end is in sight and
there is lots of talk as to which day of the week we will be in Friday seem to
be the day of choice!! So two weeks in and all the crew have gone slightly mad
with conversations at night getting that little bit odder! The galley is
turning out some great food even if all the fresh food has gone we are getting
fresh bread made daily and even the odd cake. We are hoping for are first 200
mile day today which is looking good from what I can tell!
Hope every one is well and have had a good
weekend?
