The pre-departure briefing was short and sweet,
There were certain expectations I would have to meet.
The captain and mate alone are an accomplished crew he says,
But for this trip we decided to bring along you.
I was simply to be used as an added tool on their belt,
He had no idea how bad I felt.
Here I thought I was a sailing rock star for hire,
Only to find out I am nothing more than a spare tire!
