Anastasia - South Atlantic - Days 3/4

26:24S 009:29E  660 miles covered

Yesterday started with plain sailing in a steady 22 knots but gradually the wind became more erratic, varying between 20 and 30 knots, so we switched over to the smaller genoa, put 2 reefs in the main and used that conservative sail plan overnight.

Today the wind has stabilized at 20 to 25 knots and so we have turned downwind and put the Parasailor up.  The forecast is that this wind will hold for a couple of days and then gradually die away to about 10 knots, so the plan is to take a northerly arc while we have the good wind and then cut west using the white sails.

I installed the new icemaker yesterday, so now we have a plentiful ice supply.  It is a shame it is still a bit cold outside for cocktails on the patio.  That is another good reason to head north as quickly as we can.
