Enya - How Enya Got Here

Fred bought Enya in Connecticut in 2004 & had her sailed across the Atlantic, through the Mediterranean and into the Adriatic in early 2005, joining her delivery trip in Cadiz. She spent the rest of that and the following three seasons based in Rogoznica, from where she explored the beautiful coastline and islands of Croatia, from Umag in the north to Cavtat in the south, including a trip to the striking Bay of Kotor in Montenegro.

In 2009 she sailed back to Troon (Scotland), via Almerimar (Spain), Smir (Morocco), Cadiz (Spain), Lagos (Portugal), Coruna (Spain), the Bay of Biscay, Newlyn, Land's End and Padstow (England), Milford Haven (Wales), Dublin (Ireland), Peel (the Isle of Man), Bangor (Northern Ireland) and Campbeltown and Brodick (Scotland), where she finished the season spending a few weeks exploring the Firth of Clyde.

In 2010 she started the season with a trip around the Mull of Kintyre, on the way to her temporary base in Croabh Haven, from where she explored a number of the islands on the west coast, including Islay, Coll, Mull, Skye, Barra, St Kilda, Lewis, the Summer Isles, Eigg, Rhum and Canna. She rounded Ardnamurchan Point several times and visited most of the more interesting sea lochs, as far north as Loch Inchard, and had a passage through the Crinnan Canal on her way back to Troon.

In 2011 she had a year off and did not sail at all.

In 2012 she sailed from Troon, visiting the north, west and south coasts of Ireland, across the bay of Biscay and down the Spanish and Portugese coasts to Lagos. She then sailed from Lagos to Porto Santo and Funchal (Madiera), Rubicon (Lanzarote) and Las Palmas (Gran Canaria), where she is being prepared for her trip across the Atlantic, participating in the Atlantic Rally for Cruisers. She should arrive in St Lucia in time for Christmas, from where she will explore the eastern Caribbean.
