Mad Fish - La Coruna

After a bit of R and R in sunny Salcombe, Mad Fish and her crew finally left from Falmouth on Saturday 18th August. The breeze did not fill as forcast and the result was 55 engine hours before a welcome northerly breeze sprang up in the early hours of Tuesday 21st which was just as well as we were running low on fuel at this point!

There followed some champagne sailing under blue skies, joined by what felt like the entire Bay of Biscay's population of Dolphins! our boys Oli (10) and Ethan (8) were awestruck by them and sat up on the bow with their feet over the side with the dophins splashing them while the building northerly breeze swelled the kite and drove Mad Fish at over 8 knots towards the now in sight Spanish coast. Its a landfull that I will remember for a long time to come.

Right now in Marina Caruna we are aware of three other ARC boats here also. Lancelot 2, Free Spirit and Northern Child so I feel we are in good company.

Getting ready to head south again.
