Sapphire II - 25 May, Suwarrow

We arrived in this idyllic lagoon on 20 May after a 4 day passage from BoraBora which was enlivened by catching fish each day.

As soon as we anchored in Suwarrow we had 5 black tip sharks swimming around the boat. In we jumped to cool off!

This is a very special place - a national park of The Cook Islands, no inhabitants, reachable only by boat, which rarely happens. The coral in the clearest of water is the most colorful and varied I've ever seen. Sharks are all over and manta rays and turtles have been seen.

The World ARC boats have stayed longer than planned because of threatening weather, so it's BBQ on the beach under the swaying palms each evening after a couple of hours snorkeling during the day.

We plan to leave tomorrow to hook into some 25 kt winds at the back of the passing low. Our destination is the island of Niue.
