We arrived in Tahiti three weeks ago today and we have had a very nice time here. We stayed on the boat for the first week and then moved into a very nice all-suites resort nearby. The pool is great for the girls, the small kitchen reminds us of our old apartment and the air conditioning has been a fabulous relief. We decided to stay in the hotel until we depart for the States this Friday.
Work on the boat has been progressing well, the improvements in power generation and management will certainly be noticed as we get underway again, and with a new polish and wax job she should look like new! We are still hopeful of completing the installation of our air conditioning system but this will depend on bringing back a number of parts with us when we return at the end of May. We plan to stay in Tahiti another week when we return to finish any of the projects which need additional parts to complete.
The girls have been very productive in school work, Corinne has been working hard to keep them focused. Yesterday we took a day off and went over to the island of Moorea on the car ferry. The island is quite beautiful and we had a great time. We took our snorkelling gear with us but by the time we found a good location near shore it was time to leave.
All of us are looking forward to our trip "home". We're not quite sure where home is, but we are eager to see our friends and families next week.
