Sookie - first log

Hmmm First log.  I hope this works.

At last the list of preparatory and odd jobs became complete before the off at 1200.  All the boats left the marina virtually together and then milled about in the four knot wind waiting for the start.  Although there was a distinct lack of wind most vessels turned their motors off to cross the start line.   Thereafter half the fleet motor-sailed into the distance, about a quarter (us included stuck it out and sailed for a  short while longer while the remaining die-hards wafted along behind.  For about two hours the wind played the wind, no wind game but after exposure to the open seas and away from the shelter of the BVIs we eventually found some constant headwinds to sail into and forget about  the engine.  We have already caught two fish on two different lines.  A couple of tuna for tea tonight. Andy is struggling a little with sea legs at the mo probably combined with a bit of too much sun.   Other crew members Pip and J (just J) are good company and a welcome benefit to the boat.
