Trillium - Log 5- Celebrating Cinco d Mayo at Sea

Saturday was a beautiful day at sea. We sailed for hours at a very comfortable 5-7 knots. The sky was blue and sun was bright. It was a glorious day on the water!

Tom B. flew a kite off the stern and we fished along the way. Everyone had a nap without bouncing around. It was a great day all around. Fortunately no tangled fish lines. We are still about two hours behind the fleet due to our earlier entanglement issues.

The Mexican dinner was well received by the crew. In fact, they challenged me because they don't think I can top that one! Now I will have to step it up a notch on my fancier fare. We had chicken fajitas, black bean and corn salad, salsa and homemade guacamole with corn chips. This was topped off with chocolate pudding and cookies.

Just around dinner time the wind died and the engine came on. We are still motoring on Sunday morning. The weather report suggest that the wind will pick up soon and we will be setting the sails again. I will be happy to cut the engine noise as it is loudest in our aft cabin. It is still better than sitting still in the middle of the ocean. Trillium needs good air to move her!
