THE SUN IS OUT, THE SKY IS BLUE

Maybe we will be singing that one before too long! Lindsey has acquired a new (small) guitar and some music. As Malcy is tone deaf and Ian is deaf, she is desperate for singers and thinks she will have to make do with me for the moment!

The weather in Darwin is very good and very hot, although a little cloudy at times, but today we have perfect weather. No wind of course as we were warned going to Bali, so we are motoring along in a flat sea ?without a cloud to spoil the view?! Only raining in my heart a little!

Attempted to cook roast beef, roast potatoes and parsnips in the oven last night. ?What a mistaka to maka? it took about 2 and a half hours and we ate very late! Malcy and Ian examine the new gas system this morning and conclude that the new regulator is only delivering half the pressure of the old one, so more mods required in Bali!

Whilst waiting for the delayed dinner last night Ian is snoozing in the main cabin. 2 minutes after he moved a fish jumped in through the hatch onto the settee where he had been sleeping making a real mess! Later I looked down whilst sitting at the chart table during my night watch to find the floor covered in blood. I started looking for a dead fish, only to find it was me bleeding profusely from a small cut on my toe, which I hadn?t noticed when I bashed it in the cockpit ½ an hour before! There was blood everywhere, cabin floor, the carpet, steps and cockpit floor. I wasn?t hurting so I hadn?t noticed!

Malcy, with nothing to fix today for a change, is making a kitchen knife rack and Lindsey has the sewing machine out and I am catching up on ordering spares for delivery in Bali and writing this stuff! Tonight?s salmon, leeks, spinach and pasta went down OK with 3 of us (Malcy sticks to the beef). Ian?s Aussie chums following behind us caught a fresh tuna, so maybe we will have a try ourselves tomorrow. Even Malcy is now a fresh tuna convert!

Not much to report so far, a nice gentle start to this trip. I shall keep it brief from now on, until something noteworthy happens and maybe fill in with a few Sydney photos!
