Aglaia - 27/11/2014

Conditions overnight have started to settle into proper trade wind passages rushing the yacht SW and great average speeds with the odd wave surfing us up into mid teens. Average looks good for over 200 miles a day for the rest of the week so please keep fingers crossed for us the forecast winds hold out.

Life aboard is settling into a comfortable rhythm with everyone getting used to being woken at odd times during the day and night to take their 3 hour watch on deck. The weather is already warming up, light clouds dot the horizon and we had the most beautiful sunrise through the clouds this morning.

Scott our full time chef is making everyone smile three times a day and I have to admit that I've never eaten so well skippering a yacht across the Atlantic before.

Our sail plan of twin genoas is working out to be so comfortable and only an average of 1 knot slower I don't know why I havent tried it before. The cruising yachts might be onto something here.

Tomorrow the crew will start posting their experiences so far. With Irish, German, Italian, French and English making up the 8 of us conversations are always varied and I think will make for some interesting blogs over the coming days.

Now to relax, raid the ice maker to have a proper cold drink, enjoy the James Brown playing on the deck speakers and watch the world slide by at 9-10 knots.

Until tomorrow.
