Aislig Bheag - Nosebleeds and cockroaches

Well here we are in Las Palmas with a full compliment of John, Alison, Eilidh, Donald ,Kate, Duncan and Janice.

The race has been postponed until tomorrow because of exceptional weather, strong winds, lashing rain and large seas; in other words a bad day in the Hebrides. So much for the swimsuits and sarongs!

On a positive note all the food has been stowed which involved washing all the fruit and veg and stripping all tins and packets of cardboard to prevent cockroach eggs. We can report that no cockroaches or spiders were harmed in the process which was a great relief to everyone, especially Janice although Kate did have a nosebleed from cleaning the glue off 60 tins.

The 80 bananas which were hard and green yesterday are now resting in their own hammock and have become a variety of colours from dark yellow to brownish black.

Can anyone supply information on the dangers of potassium overdose?!

In the evenings It has been compulsory to attend several parties most of which supply a few free drinks so sorrows have been drowned. (Let's hope they are the only things).

Goodbye for now from a rather soggy boat
Janice
