Lily - Sea Legs Arrived

As one can imagine, the first few days at sea are kind of tough for body and mind. After so many days in the marina with so many parties and other serious activities to be attended, the body and mind were no longer used to life at sea. So it is with great pleasure to announce that aboard SY LILY all are now fully used to living at sea again. Boris, the boat cat, is again trying to chase the waves and brings the occasional flying fish found on deck during the night (it seems that flying fish have a problem with night vision as it seems they only land on deck during the night).

Ineke and I have now adjusted to basically not seeing each other too much but for happy hour, breakfast and change of watch (with the standard ritual that the one going off is really happy but sleepy and the one coming on is not so happy and also sleepy). Ah, yes, the other ritual is to jibe after breakfast (night jibes are forbidden by the SY LILY constitution - we leave that to the eager beavers) as this is a 30 minute affair (reduced from 1 hour as we have now figured out the workings of the pole and its many lines).

So overall life is good with a nice breeze more or less in the right direction to Mindelo! Nothing like watching the sun rise with Boris on your lap and watching the equally beautiful sun set during happy hour with Ineke).
