Nexus - Sky is clearing, waves bigger, consistent wind, life at sea is good!

We flew last night. It was a boisterous ride in lumpy seas with blustery wind and rain but by this afternoon we seem to have sailed out of the bad weather and are seeing our first hints of sunny things to come! We have a strong, consistent wind from the ESE of 24kts and although the waves are bigger they are longer in period and a little less lumpy, so we are sailing well and life is good! We covered over 900nm in 5 days, and have 1,350nm to go, so sometime tomorrow we'll be half way there! This calls for a celebration, so Laurie and Jeannie are baking a cake! Unfortunately, our fast sail has left us all alone, with the next nearest yacht over 40nm behind us, and we've passed the three boats who left early as well. It's a lot more fun to sail in company, so we look forward to the morning and evening radio net where we can catch up with news of the other boats. Of course, the reward for a fast passage, is more time to enjoy Mauritius, and we are really looking forward to that!
