Arc Fishing Competition - Yacht Mustique- Official entry ARC 2013

It was a day much like many others- living the dream, skies 50 shades of blue, trade winds off the quarter and white puffy cumulus clouds smiling the way to the Caribbean.......

Then, all of a sudden, all went dull over Yacht Mustique and her crew. Suspecting a dark squall, skipper Fin lay down his book 'How to catch a massive monster fish in the North Atlantic Ocean' and he looked out to sea, to see the biggest flying fish he'd ever seen, soaring through the skies like a Top Gun Tuna!

'Chief Fisherman Scott!!' he shouted.... 'FISH on!' Scott sprung into action with Becki the Fish Maiden at his side. The monster flying fish dived back into the deep blue Ocean, its sheer size creating a mini tsunami, drenching Mustique & her crew. Scott held the rod and braced himself. The reel exploded and ran out as fast as Usain Bolt on heat. Luckily we had pre-loaded the reel with 10.6km of 1000lb line as per Fin's book, . We cooled the reel with sea water which super heated and clouds of steam rose high into the sky.

'I can't handle this one Becki' cried Scott.... 'Bring out the Gimp!' he demanded.

Becki said 'We left the gimp in Las Palmas (with Kurt!) but we've got the next best thing- bring out the Montenegrin!!'

Standing well over TWO METRES tall, bulging bronzed muscles, a man with balls of titanium, Stefan The Montenegrin took the reel and battle commenced.

24hours later we landed the monster flying fish. There had been a rumor that Mustique and her crew had made landfall in Cape Verde and indulged in Lobster lunch, beer and chocolate cake for this 24hour period when the yellowbrick tracker showed no movement- but the truth is now revealed- we were at battle!

Captain Fin consults his book on Monster Fishes and reveals that we have in fact successfully caught the Rare, lesser spotted North Atlantic Monster Flying Fish , a sub-species of the equally rare North Atlantic flying Haggis fish recently spotted off the Western Isles of Scotland..

It is with great pleasure and pride that we submit this fish as our official entry for the Arc2013 fishing competition in all categories.

NOTE - For scale- the Montenegrin in the photo is 2.1 metres tall (they are  very tall race)

NOTE 2 - The attached photo remains as the only evidence of the massive monster fish as knowing that the national dish of Barbados is the flying fish we stopped off there on route to St Lucia and had a flying fish BBQ and were hailed as National Heros , and given freedom of the Mount Gay Rum distillery for eternity.

Yours awesomely, Fin, Stefan, Becki and Scott
