True Colours - Roast Beef

Position 15:04.99N 032:04.46W

This is more like it!

Firstly, for dinner a joint of Roast Beef, expertly prepared and cooked by Toby.  Much debate about the cut, as it looked and tasted like brisket, but was not a rolled joint (none of those on board to the best of the skipper’s knowledge!!)  Then after dinner the wind increased and for the first time since leaving Sao Vicente we were able to sail through the night, and maintained a decent speed, with the wind veering to turn the broad reach into a poled out genoa run.

Bacon, egg, cheese and ketchup butties for brunch, again courtesy of Toby.  Sadly, that is almost the end of the meat;  after a team smelling session, we consigned to the deep all the remaining beef bought in Las Palmas, and are now left only with a little more bacon and the chicken bought in Sao Vicente.

Weather forecast looks like the current winds will hold until Sunday;  then we are likely to have a day’s motoring before the winds resume and increase, pushing us all the way into St Lucia.  We’ll see – the grib files from MaxSea have been pretty accurate, although generally the winds have been a couple of knots stronger than the files suggest.
