Edelweiss - Toodeling along

Friday the 6th of December finds us with reasonably calm seas and calm winds behind us. Not going to set any speed records, but moving nicely toward St Lucia. Today, we celebrated 2,000 nautical miles on the trip log since we left Las Palmas. That doesnt mean that we are 2,000 miles closer to St Lucia than when we departed Las Palmas - in fact, we are probably about 1,500 miles from our starting point. But the miles on the trip log are sea miles (as opposed to direct or "rhumb line" miles) that indicate the amount of ground we have covered as we work our way to weather we think will be good, avoid obstructions (like the Cape Verde Islands, and large commercial ships), and generally wander around the ocean. Will the course from here be more straight? Watch here and see!
