Starla - Log Day 6 - Better Wind - One week In

Hello Everyone,

Distance logged today - 151 nautical miles. Distance to date this trip - 670 nautical miles.

Our best day so far in terms of distance logged. With more breeze, the boat is very capable of a lot more. Still nice to achieve our best day.

The wind came in on the afternoon, we had 8-12 knots, then later 12 - 20 from the south west and south east. We were flying our big Genneker sail for a few hours in the afternoon, then the wind increased beyond the design of the sail and we then took it down.

The evening and overnight brought rain, and it has rained ever since. The sea state is very lumpy, giving us the most uncomfortable night yet.

Peter made a great pork curry for dinner last night, that served us lunch as well today.

At breakfast time again, the fish came biting. Brian got a 2.5kg and Colin a slightly smaller Dorado. I got a small tuna. The lures that we are using are quite small, hence the size of the fish that we are catching. That suits us. Although, a bit of a fight would be fun.

Regards,

Starla Crew
