Albatros - ALBATROS Day 3

Day 3, Nov 26th

With cheering people and a brass band on the peer H17 in Muelle Deportivo we crossed the starting line at nov 24, 1pm just outside of the marina. With a nice breeze began our adventure heading to Saint Lucia.

In the meantime the first 2 nights are behind us and we get more and more adjusted to the boat, the waves, the team.

Yesterday we were welcomed by a few dolphins joining us for a few minutes along the boat. The handreel with the fishing line didnĀ“t bring any results yet. The last night was pretty dark due to the clouds and the disappearing moon.

With a compass course of 240 degrees we were cruising through the dark night. We were able to spot about 5 other boats around us. The wind around 10knots, the waves and the darkness made it pretty challenging to hold the course. The shifts are assigned. 2 people with 3 hours shift during the night, 4 hours during the daylight.

Today we are cruising with an average speed between 8-9 knots and increasing outside temperatures. It seems that we picked up the Passat. We are running the full main sail and the genoa in butterfly.
