Joy of Shamrock Quay - Fish for Supper

Sunrise this morning brought a beautiful sunny day with a very calm sea and little swell, and another brief dolphin display as they chased flying fish with rocket speed. We took the opportunity to make some garlic mayonnaise and bake bread rolls for lunch, and then had a bite on the rod. An amazing yellow dolphin fish graced our lure with its splendid colours, and it didn't put up too much of a fight when we reeled it in. A change to the planned supper of lamb cutlets, now barbecue fish with home made chips and salad, lush.
Graham made radio contact with Easy Rider today giving them and one other yacht the weather forecast as they had been unable to download. We had overheard a radio conversation last night from Easy Rider saying that they are sailing with main alone having shred their genoa on the first evening, and then their code 0 got a wrap and also ripped. Their spirits are still high and they have set up the games table as they will now have a slower than expected crossing (we overtook them last night).
The 'Big Fella' stayed out all night as the winds were 12-19 knots with the odd gust of 22, and as the winds are much lighter today, 10-15, he has stayed out doing what he does best. It is always such a pleasure to sail with the asymmetric, it is like flying a gracious kite off the bow and is so very easy to helm. We are all in heaven, thank you ARC+!!
