La Rochelle - la rochelle. "hole finder"

Had a great sail yesterday in 10 - 15 knots of pressure on the beam giving us mid 7"s under full main and no1 heady. The wind gradually dropped from 3pm and up went the asso. Carrying the apparent forward by 30 degrees and giving us a respectable 6 knots of boat speed in 8 knots of true wind.  By 8 pm the pressure had dropped to 6 knots and backed around to the nne barely enough to keep our sails full With the main flogging itself to death , we dropped it , and sailed with the asso only giving us 4 knots , not enough!!! We had found "another hole." With the " green death "itching for another go,we reluctantly gave in and motored from midnight Managed to pick up a nice line of squalls at 6 am for a hour propelling us along at 7 knots in 18 knots of breeze with the headiest only Hopefully today the wind gods smile on us and we get some sailable pressure as the "green death" requires food and we are now getting low on it.

We have also discovered that the " dragon" in the v berth requires 2 cigarettes and 2 coffees in the morning before you can talk to it .

Cheers from all on La Rochelle
