Amokura - Amokura Day 7

“Who’ll stop the rain?” Creedance Clearwater Revival

A line of squalls came after us today.
Or maybe it was the other way around.

Triple reefed on main and jib. Holding steady on course at about 8 knots.
Pounding rains, 3 meter seas, and at the end, 40 knot winds.
A quick heave-to for the last bit and then sailing towards blue skies.
Actually, red skies at night. And you know the rest.

Now we head west into westerly winds.
Slightly quieter seas and only 15-20 knot winds.
Amazing the perspective one gains when you spend the first part of day in 25-35 knot winds.

We are towards the end of our fresh fruit but still enjoying the fruit hammocks swinging around the saloon.
Just walk through and pick a fruit. Hmm, maybe not that one.
Mangoes, papayas, tangerines, apples, pears, bananas.
All seem to ripen at the same time.
We may put together some crumbles or smoothies quickly.

We will see what the morning brings.
