La Rochelle - Starboard Tack

We have been on starboard tack for 3 days now, all to hard to jibe. The Bavaria curve as we call it has been kicking in every night, with the breeze clocking left 30 degrees or so, enabling us to point at where we want to go, screamed along last night averaging 8 knots with louvre again doing a wonderful job, for a person who is blind and drives on feel. The breeze should continue to go left today enabling us to keep on our rhumb line.

The radar is working wonderfully well, allowing us to dodge a couple of squalls last night. Our chartplotter has a gremlin and resets every 12 hours, can't figure out why, but enables us to keep on the "new" rhumb line nicely.

Analogy: cruising boat under15 knots = mini moke going up a hill towing a caravan
Cruising boat over 20 knots = mini moke going down the hill towing the same caravan
How to make a col wrap, just add asymmetrical spinnaker to an over enthusiastic helmsman trying to stay on the rhumb line, works every time.

Cheers from all on La Rochelle.
