MORE ODES of PASSAGE REPAIR by Jay Ailworth

Auto Von Driver is truly dead,
We found his still smoking body under the Captain's bed.
While the ramifications are unconflicted
The ship's doctor has determined death was totally self-inflicted.
A thorough report will take a while,
However there will be no murder charges to file.
His body has been removed and ready to bury,
I think we should name the new driver, Harry.
The Captain worked late into the night,
it amounted to a heavy weight fight.
The mate has to step in to lend some aid
As wet, slimy, and slippery hydraulic connections were made.
As the battle waged it became time for a break,
The physical exhaustion too much to take.
Soon after a cup of soup which seems a feast
with a great sigh the Captain re-enters the den of the beast.
Much later the final act had been played
The Captain victorious, the metaphysical dragon has been slayed.
Harry Von Driver is now happy in his new home
And that will bring an end to this dreadful poem.

Thanks, Jay!
