Euphoria - Log Day 15 – No candy mood

Dear Blog,

As you might have noticed the Euphorian crew sent a distress mail earlier today. To make a long story short we have gone short on candy. Aboard Euphoria this is even worse than going short on coffee. The good thing however is that in reality we have not gone short at all. Out of pure consideration of the well-being of both crew and skipper, my dear wife Catarina delivered a quite significant package of mainly chocolate well before our departure in Las Palmas. The package was hidden away for special moments and the plan has long been to open the package on December 9, i.e. tomorrow. So, the situation is under control. With strict monitoring and control over the next 72 hours we should make it to Rodney Bay.

In an unusually creative moment last night I found the crew crunched up around a computer in the darkness of the cockpit, completely absorbed with formulating a poem capturing this serious mood. The poem was sent in the distress mail this morning. For those of you who are not fluent in Swedish I have made an effort to capture the special mood through the following translation.

No candy mood:
Here we are in sorrow and fears
with torn cheeks all soaked in tears
Our longing is greater than the Atlantic Ocean
with which we no longer have an emotion.
The rush that you gave
superior to every wave
sole substitute to family and like
with you our destiny would spike
Our bond to sanity would never bend
but our Euforian dance has come to an end

Our praised Rainbow Spaghetti,
our haven and our jetty
The ransom assessed and doubled
to make sure we would never be troubled
Now the tragedy is here
you know we need you dear
We hope to meet on the other side
and to our destiny will abide

This situation has had quite an impact on our sailing capacity today. Without our 6th crew member Raymar at the helm we would have been in real trouble.

The Skipper
