Aspen - Log 15 Sunday 8 Dec; The Days Go By

It looks like I said it was Friday yesterday for this log when in fact it was Saturday. Wow, how time flies when we are rolling along with the seas.

The winds are still very light and we are making slow progress as you can see from our position report with the ARC fleet tracker. We don't believe the Trade Winds actually exist, at least not any longer.

The oscillation of the north pole must be the cause for the winds to have disappeared or maybe the magnetic poles are starting to reverse themselves as they have done so many times in past geologic history as evidenced from the core samples taken along the Mid-Atlantic Ridge that we are now nearly sailing over. Whatever the reason there is just not a lot of wind out here and the miles creep by for Aspen.

I told Maria that if we would have been lucky the Mid-Atlantic Ridge would have formed a nice island out here, similar to Iceland but a lot warmer. But unfortunately that never happened!
