Blue Ocean - Day 13: Out of Africa
For some reason our position has been recorded incorrectly on the ARC
listings – we have moved from a favourable position just East of the Carribbean
(putting us amongst the leading multihulls) to a location somewhere in Africa.
Let me assure readers that we are still (as far as we are aware) in the North
Atlantic and not landlocked in a desert near Mali.
We have had some odd instrument failures aboard Blue Ocean but I think that
this erroneous reading can be put down to ‘operator error’. Note that we have
been sending ARC Control our positions correctly, so it seems that on this
occassion the operator error is not ours.
For the record, our true position as I write is: 16*28’.26N and 48*10’.73W.
Distance to St. Lucia is 753nm.
Bye
Craig
