Golondrina - Thursday - nearly half way!

So news from the front.  Golondrina is in the trade winds and as you can see pressing west. The wind is directly behind the boat so at times we need to dip slightly south and north to avoid some exciting rolling from side to side so you may see a see-saw action on the tracker for a while.

As regards positioning, Golondrina  is racing in a category with the following boats : Edelweiss, Polaris, Amokura, Homer, Zulu, Belle, At Last, Kondili, Zig Zag, Exeter, Zenara and Amokura to name a few.  At the moment We are 84th from 200 boats, the vast majority of which are much bigger and so it's fair to say we've done exceptionally well so far.

A momentous day on board when the midday position was marked on the chart and we actually had to open it up so we have 'crossed the crease' .. Not sure it's a nautical term but worth a celebration.

As regards the crew everyone is well .... Well that is apart from Mr Chamberlin who had a rather emotional moment last night when a very large spinneaker wrapped itself round the foresail. So just because he got wrapped up in it and just because he fell over and we all had a chuckle.  Question is - did he keep his cool ?  I'm sure Becky and his friends could answer that but I'm not sure Father Christmas will visit little boys who say such things !

So if all goes well in the next few hours some time just midnight we should be passing the halfway point between Las Palmas and St Lucia and we'll have 1380 miles to go and just to spice things up So a lighting storm has just started to our south.

Distance to go as of 2100 GMT. 1400 miles.
