Skara Brae - meandering monday in the Atlantic

Our yellowbrick is acting up - we have it on charge at present hopefully it will work again later

Meandering in the Atlantic!

we made a decision yesterday to head south where there was no wind - so we could repair our mainsail - which was stuck up the mast on 2nd reef obviously this was not good for 2 reasons

1. we cant get it up full when there is light winds

2. we cant get it down when there is too much wind

oh and we cant sail into St Lucia Marina with a sail that is powered as we try to maneuver around a few hundred boats etc.

Finally after 2 days of climbing the mast, alan, andrew and scott are bruised tae feck, but main sail is finally fixed - as long as we don't try and push it in heavy winds - as i'm sure the repairs will not hold up to large winds.

Not that we need to worry about heavy winds - as we have virtually none! we have 7kts of wind which lets us do about 3.5 kts of speed, my dog can walk faster!

so the 1800nm to St Lucia seem like a long way off.

anyway now that we are sailing again - its time to open our keg of beer that has been cooling in the fridge the last days :-)

cheers
fae Skara Brae
