Silent Wings - Daily Blog ARC+

Once all the excitement of the Red Arrow and fireworks of the Regatta had ceased, Silent Wings sailed from Dartmouth with her full ARC+ crew (skipper Steve, and crew Sally, Dirk from Luxembourg and Peter from Sweden) on 5th on the first leg to La Coruna and towards Las Palmas.

The trip gave us a bit of everything from over 30knots of wind and big seas to no wind, calm seas and dolphins under the bow. Both boat and crew performed beautifully; it was a great chance to practice our storm jib skills, get to know each other better and really enjoy some great sailing. In La Coruna, we have caught up with Ian, Wendy and Bumble the dog on Silver Slipper, whilst we sort some technical issues with the iridium phone, etc and wait for some weather to head south... most probably down the coast to Povoa, then across to Porto Santo.

Looking forward to it already.

Steve and Sally
