Ni Sa Mothe Fiji !!

05 July 2014

The World ARC programme at Musket Cove Resort and Marina, Fiji is coming to a close after a busy few days of partying and fun. The resort is an ideal place for the fleet to meet up after several weeks of free cruising and all the crews appreciated being on the dock or the moorings, close to one another. The time was twinged with an element of sadness though as several boats are leaving the Rally here in Fiji.

The weather has also influenced the programme. A stronger winds forecast for the latter part of the route to Tanna, Vanuatu, suggested that an earlier departure may be prudent. Therefore the competitive start, set for Saturday, was abandoned, allowing each crew to decide to depart whenever they felt most comfortable. Accordingly, the majority of the fleet left during Friday, with the remainder departing on Saturday morning.

However, before all the boats left, the crews did manage to enjoy some great activities including a great party at the main restaurant at Musket Cove on Thursday evening. It was a really special evening with great food and local entertainment provided by staff members of Musket Cove Resort. The fleet said farewell to each boat in turn and wished them well with their future plans.

This visit has been World ARC’s fourth visit to Musket Cove Resort and Marina. The welcome has been as warm as ever and the attention of the wonderful staff, second to none. The experience here begins with a friendly welcome on the VHF from Sophie, Patrick and Bale in the Yacht Club office and continues with each friendly Bula! from the resort staff. World Cruising Club, on behalf of the World ARC fleet, sincerely thank the owners and management of Musket Cove Resort and Marina, Carol, Josie & Will, Gary, & Joe for hosting the Rally and we very much look forward to our next visit in 2015.
