Trompeta - Grenada Anchorages

We have had a fantastic time exploring the anchorages on the south coast of Grenada starting with St Davids Harbour which is where Grenada Marine are based and where we intend to store the boat for the hurricane season. St Davids is a delightful pretty quiet anchorage where we both had a good sleep. There is a bar and restaurant at Grenada Marine which serves cheap tasty food so you do not have to go far to eat out.

Next we went around to Le Phare Bleu where we saw Mr Blues on the dock who was trying to get his repaired rudder put back on the boat. It seems the diver ran out of air and they lost the daylight so he was having another diver to help the following day. They have managed to get going now and have left Grenada.  Le Phare Bleu is again another pretty Marina with a very good bar and restaurant. We just stayed one night here as we were actually using one of the hurricane moorings and  the Marina staff were not keen for us to stay longer on the buoy.

Saturday morning we went around to Whisper Cover Marina in Clarke Courts Bay and this has been the best place so far! This small  Marina is run by two french families who are extremely helpful and welcoming. There is a lovely meat shop where we stocked up on some lovely cuts of beef and pork. On Easter Sunday they held a Brunch with a delicious selection of foods including roast beef and roast ham with salads potatoes and even eggs bacon and sausages! We are able to stay on one of their mooring buoys (the Marina was full) for free as we ate at the restaurant on Saturday night and had Sunday lunch. Whilst here we had a leak in the dinghy so we had to get ferried ashore on Saturday but managed to fix it by Sunday. The patch is not 100% secure so Peter is having another go at repairing it today so we can move around to Mount Hartman.

The weather forecast is for strong to gale force winds over the next couple of days so we will not leave Grenada until later this week. Anyway...we are having too much fun and meeting some lovely people as well.
