Fidelis of London - Day 11

During the day we have around 7 knots of wind. It´s a nice break from the
high waves and 30 knots of wind that we had for the first 8 days. Using the
engine, our speed is around 6.2 knots. If we calculate our ETA in an
optimistic way, we should be there in 8 days. Now that the sun is coming
out, it´s boiling. We´re finally getting a chance to tan and relax! It´s
impossible to stay out in the sun for long, and as there is very little
shade, it´s very refreshing to take a shower outside on the deck. Dad
doesn´t quite realise that we´re in the middle of the Atlantic and that it
is unnecessary to use 5 pans to cook dinner. ``But I have to cook this meat
in the small pan first`` and ``but this pan is more stable on the table``
are his excuses. We were all hoping that we would lose some weight on the
crossing, but since we're doing this crossing Marco-style with a very nice
lunch and dinner everyday, that's not gonna happen! Yesterday we tried
watching The Mentalist, which Thomas got for me as a Sinterklaas present.
He decided it would be a good idea to hide it in the bilge... Proves that
the dumb blonde theory doesn't only apply to girls! Even though we're all
relaxing and enjoying the sun now, I still can't wait to arrive in St
Lucia! 1280 nm to go!
