Sumatra - Log Day 3: Rock and Roll!

We have been underway for over 48 hours now and are starting to settle into this new routine of life at sea. With big swells and 30-knot winds behind us at first, we made good progress west and started heading a little further south this morning, hoping to catch the trade winds. We managed to gybe and put a reef in during a squall at about 4am this morning, so all feeling pretty pleased with ourselves. The boat has been rocking and rolling a lot which makes life interesting down below - boiling eggs has never seemed so difficult! Everybody is in good spirits though and not too seasick. There were a few other ARC boats in sight for the first couple of days, but we haven't seen a soul for many hours now. Some of the crew spotted a pilot whale and a pod of dolphins earlier this morning - sadly the rest of us were asleep, so we're hoping for more friendly visitors during the trip...Sending lots of love to all our friends and family, you can watch our progress on the yellowbrick tracker app.
