What a wonderful week of fun and sightseeing! The fun, without saying included many a late nights (this late setting of the sun is a bugger!!) on Cerveja Sagres and at Peter's Sport Cafe ... or on our way to bed ... but with a bit of a delay (a pause till 3 am) in transition from the first to the next to the next yacht (rafted up 3-4 deep is a sure way of having company at night! )
Horta and in fact the whole island of Faial is just so special! We will certainly remember it as the most welcome stop ever after a crossing! For all different reasons but mostly for the fact that it was not a breeze (but a storm) getting here and the jaw dropping surprise of this island made it all so worth the effort!
We are leaving with very fond memories of people like John (Chiscos) and Stuart (Time Bandit) cracking me up with their ability to find a humoristic angle to everything - even saying Hello or Goodbye or anything for that matter! We will miss you John! It is sad that you cannot do the rest of the Azores with us! Hopefully we will meet up again one day!
So John, we say: Thank you for the music, the songs you're singing, Thanks for all the joy they're bringing!.... Enjoy the rest of the trip and keep in touch!
To all the rest of the ARC yachts that is not continuing on : Thanks for help making great memories! We will really miss you - may you have fair winds and I hope our paths will cross again somewhere where it is blue and pretty!
