Nexus - Light wind but nice day...1,300nm to go.

Light winds today, but very nice weather and calm seas, with 1300nm to go! It was a calm night sailing, but we saw Alpharatz and Ghost close their distance to us nicely, and NDS Darwin pull slightly ahead overnight. We're going almost dead downwind and I think they have more sail area out than our Asymmetric has. which helps them along...great sailing guys! We're looking at tweaking our rig a bit to see if we can wring another half knot out of our Asymmetric and try to keep up, but these light winds keep you on your toes to boat moving nicely. Hopefully we'll get some 15kt periods back this afternoon and make up some ground! We had a bit of excitement on the fishing front this morning, with three simultaneous reels going off. Unfortunately we were not able to board any of them, one broke the steel leader and took one of our best lures, the other two fought, spun, flipped and surfed along behind the boat for quite a while as we tried to reel them in, but couldn't get them to the boat before they both managed to shake the hooks out. At least we got our lures back for another try, and we're happy to know there are indeed nice fish in these waters!
