Morning Haze - Sailor Ted's adventures continue! (day 9,10,11 and 12)

Cheers fellow cruisers,
Day 9 was full of surprises. Most of which was from Eole (God of the wind)... I guess he did not know what to send us that day...We kept changing course or sail configurations to prevent the sails from flapping against the rig. On the good side of things...We caught 2 Mahis (number 7 and 8)! The day was also spent doing minor work on the boat..yes even at sea we work!
Day 10 was basically a downwind run with main and poled genoa. In the afternoon we took our water sample for the research project and when the wind diminished a bit and the sails were starting to flap against the rig again ( David hates that!) we tought we would give a try to the Parasailor. The wind was 15 knots but just after we hoisted it, the toping lift attachement on the pole broke and we had to take it down...not mentioning that we had to send someone up the mast in some 2 meter swells to retrieve the topping lift... So up went Isabelle!
We had one of our slowest day (with all the time spent with the Parasailor and climbing up the mast) with only 132 Miles on the log. Positive point of the day..we caught our biggest Mahi!...thats number 9!
Yesterday (day 11) we did beat our own record!!!...of our slowest day at 116 miles!...but it was a beautiful day at sea. The sun was up and warm, the sky was blue and we sailed with the Parasailor with just 5-9 knots of wind...just a relaxing and beautiful day at sea! During the afternoon, I helped Rebecca and Demi prepare some delicious banana bread and we did a tasting contest! 1st position: banana bread with caramel, 2nd: banana bread with Malteaser's and in 3rd place was banana bread with Oh Henry chocolate inside!
Today winds are not even reaching 5-6 knots. We tried to sail the Parasailor but it would not even stay up! The sun just came from behind the clouds and the water looks very tempting. We just decided it was time for our much awaited mid-Atlantic swim...a "bucket list item" of most offshore cruisers!!!
Well thats all folks. Morning Haze is now more than ready for some wind to fill her sails so that she can get up to hull speed! We have not seen a boat in 4 days...where is everyone???..probably ahead I guess! :-)
Anyway, everybody is fine on board and we are having a good time. Demi and Rebecca want to say hello to their grand parent's back home...they can't wait to talk to them. As for myself, I will cuddle with them both today! :-))

Sailor Ted aboard Morning Haze stand by on 16
