Lancelot II - Day 18 - Final Blog, St Lucia bound...

Today's blog will be the last!!!

Yesterday, knowing that I will write today's blog, I wondered what new or interesting I could possibly write. All seemed to be said, the look back over the 18 days done, the outlook to what we will do on St. Lucia also. But then, thanks to Mother Nature, the subject for this blog came in form of what Jacko called a “tough night”...  We have seen strong winds during this crossing, the waves have been big before, we went through dark nights, and rain too, was nothing new. Last night it all came together. Sometimes I was just glad that it was too dark to see anything, so I didn’t know how big the waves were, they would have frightened me for sure. When Steve did ride down the waves, there was nothing than foam all around the boat and all you could hear was the roaring water and Steve’s “ jipiiii”. Mel found herself woken up by a salt-water shower, that found its way through the cockpit, down to her berth. New experiences till the last day.

This morning, the sun is up again, the main sail is reefed and life on board back to normal again. The miles are running down, only 127 more to go. We expect to arrive in St. Lucia early next morning, so be ready to get a call from the Caribbean!

So one last thank you to all of you, that have followed our adventure by reading our blog and have sent us messages and good thoughts. Love, Annette.
