Blue Dolphin - Day 10 - bobbing about in the Atlantic

Still no wind!!!  The crew all agreed that the weather is perfect for a cruise in the Greek Isles but terrible for an Atlantic passage.  They had to use engines all night - again.  The morning started quite promising with winds in the NW of about 6knots.  They even got the spinnaker flying – for about an hour.  Then the winds died and the spinnaker came down.  Progress in the last 24 hours was 100 miles when they had hoped to average 140 hrs per day.  They are trying to stay phlegmatic and keep saying ‘it is what it is’ but they will be very happy when/if the trade winds kick in.

Fuel is soon to become an issue and to add to their woes the watermaker stopped working!!  Mike got it going but then it stopped again.  He will look at it again in the morning with a clear head.  Sally had to forgo her shower today.

On the plus side they enjoyed a beautiful sunny day in their own exclusive Ocean.  The odd flying fish was spotted.  Mike tried his luck again with the rod.  He got two bites, one of which he almost reeled in – but eventually it got away.  Still he is getting closer.

The crew also enjoyed a game of Yatzee.  Carol got 3 yatzees in a single game and they were all sixes!!!   There is suspicion of foul play.

Kathy once again excelled in the kitchen and produced a gourmet chicken and leeks In white wine.
