Aspen - Log 3: Wednesday 27 Nov; Headwinds?

Did Columbus have headwinds on this trade wind route? We have them
today! At least the winds are light on our bow so we have tacked 60
degrees away from the African coast. Luckily Captain Steve knew these
winds were forecast so he allowed for this by sailing further east than
normal. Now hopefully we will be back on track and able to head for the
NW Cape Verdes before turning west. And NO, the butter has not melted
but our water is nearly frozen at night it seems!

Also, we must have brought along some nasty germs from the Canaries with
us because we have really nasty colds. With 1,000 sailors arriving from
all parts of the globe it is not surprising that we would catch something.
