Starblazer - Starblazer - Ready to go!

The second week has been surprisingly busy. I thought we would have far more time to do things such as paint our flag on the wall. We just ran out time so for the second time we gave left no mark here. On the other hand I did spend about 20 hours making two fantastic musketeer outfits!

We also managed to leave the meat and veg ordering late, again! This time, though, the meat was solidly frozen when it was delivered yesterday afternoon. We chose to carry the veg back to the boat with us rather than wait for a delivery. I spent some time washing all the fruit and veg, dividing it into three weeks and laying it out to dry. Normally this is no problem but we had heavy rain on both Friday evening and much of Saturday! It is now safely stored in the aft cabin heads shower area. I managed to squeeze all the meat into the freezer, removing some we already had for meals for the next few days, I've even drawn up a menu of sorts this time.

Yes, we are ready, everything is safely stowed. We just have to return the gate swipe cards and get the deposit back. We plan to slip the mooring at 11.30 or thereabouts. From now on there should be a daily blog from Starblazer on www.worldcruising.com/arc and possibly also posted to the website. We will use SPOT every 6 hours but you can see how we are doing compared with all the other boats on the Yellowbrick Tracker site by following a link from the World Cruising Club ARC pages. Make sure you choose ARC not ARC+ as they left two weeks ago and had a five day stopover in the Cape Verde Islands and have a separate tracking page. A word of warning, if you want to use an i-phone or i-pad you'll have to by the app for the ARC, it costs about £1.99. It costs nothing on a pc.

Bye for now, the next blog will be from the Atlantic Ocean!
