This morning marked the start of ARC Baltic 2015 with the opening of the Rally Office in the new start port of Rostock, at Yachthafen Hohe Düne in Warnemunde. All berthing on the same pontoon and flying their dress overall flags, the rally atmosphere is beginning to build in the marina.
During check-in rally participants received detailed information regarding their stay in Rostock and the exciting six weeks ahead of them sailing the Baltic nations. Many of the crews have already met during their passages to Rostock, however tonight they can look forward to a get together over drinks meeting others in the fleet. Coming from 11 different nationalities, and a variety of experiences and backgrounds, their shared experience starts here.
Tomorrow the last boats will arrive and check in with the rally team, before enjoying a guided walking tour of Warenmunde providing them with an insight into the local history of the town. In the evening, welcome drinks and the first crew dinner of the Rally will take place officially marking the start of ARC Baltic 2015!
