Ace - Ace at Sea

Memory of dolphins hurdling along side is eclipsed by long surfs  on 25 kts 0f wind that gradually tapered off to the point where the spinnaker appeared on deck for the first time. As soon as it was rigged the wind picked up to 25 kts.  A reef followed by a jibe south and prep for a 2nd reef led to the discovery of a minor problem with the jib furler. we lowered the main for the night but not before Fred got his run of +20 in +30 kts of wind.Rob, Chris and Peter cooly and capably handled this series of  maneuvers.  A long rolly night under jib alone and mostly light winds. Steering with 25 kts a lot easier than steering with 15. all mitigated by a near full moon that brilliantly illuminated a silver and black sea scape. Daylight brought Chris and Rob to the bow and the furler was fixed in good time . we're happily back in default mode: bright sun, dark blue sea, 25 kts of wind, ripping off runs of 17-18 kts. fantastic.
